The amount spent for the above toilets was Rs.37 lakhs. These toilets have been well appreciated by one and all.

5.      For the year 2015-16 DCI has taken up the work for constructing toilets in ten more schools as per the list provided by SSA. While the earlier toilets were of the conventional brick mortar design, for this year, DCI has embarked upon constructing toilets which are more durable, easy to construct and ofcourse maintaining best standards.

6.      After much research on the available alternatives, DCI has zeroed on portacabin toilets in containers which can be constructed at factory brought over to the sites in a trailer and installed in the minimum possible time. Further, for the septic tanks instead of conventional cement type, DCI has used the modern Fibre-reinforced plastic septic tanks which are easy to install and more hygienic. The discharge outlets are either connected to drain or soak pit. The features of porta cabin toilets are as under:-
a)      External - MS steel
b)      Internal - Fiber Cement Boards properly reinforced with MS channels, L angles etc.
c)      The gap between external and internal walls has been reinforced with glass wool for providing thermal insulation.
d)      Portion of the roof is  with polycarbonate sheet to let in natural light. There is not need for any lights/ electricity.
e)      eachporta cabin is fitted witth a turbo ventilator which is wind driven and helps circulation fresh air, again without any electricity, thus removing the possibility of any stinking smell in the toilets.
f)       All the materials used are of reputed vendors.

The ten schools where these modern porta cabins are being installed are as under:-
