Independence Day was celebrated at Dredging Corporation of India Ltd (DCIL)
corporate office here on Thursday with great enthusiasm. Capt.D.K.Mohanthy,
Chairman and Managing Director, Dredging Corporation of India Ltd unfurled the National Flag and conveyed the Independence
Day greetings to all the officers, employees and their families.
On the auspicious occasion, CMD
expressed gratitude to all the freedom fighters who have helped the Country to
achieve freedom. CMD stated that with the recent induction of the two new
dredgers, the performance of the Company is on the upswing. But he cautioned
that DCI is yet to come out completely
out of the tough phase and requested all the officers and staff to
work together as a team. He stated that only with co-operation of the all the
employees at all levels the Company will be able to successfully sail
through. He stated that the third
dredger was recently launched in Netherlands is expected to join by end of the
financial year. He stated that the first quarter results ending 30th
June 2013 are encouraging with the profit after tax increasing to Rs10 Cr. He further
stated that share price of corporation rose to 52 week high recently; it is a very
positive development and indicating growth and the investor confidence on the
Company.
Patriotic songs rendered by the
employees of DCI and Cash prizes were distributed to the employees who were successful
in Hindi exams. Shri P.V.Ramanamurthy, Director (Finance), Cmde. P.Jayapal, Director (Ops.&Tech.)
and other Head of Departments, employees and their families were present on this occasion.
